India vs Windies 2018, 2nd Test: Jasprit Bumrah Congratulates Umesh Yadav for Maiden Six-for in Tests

Jasprit Bumrah took it to Twitter to congratulate Umesh Yadav for picking up six wickets against the Windies in the second game of the two-match Test series in Hyderabad. However, Umesh Yadav was the pick of the bowlers for India in the first innings, as he picked up his career-best bowling figures (6/88). Meanwhile, Shradul Thakur had injured himself after delivering ten balls early on and in his absence,  Umesh had led from the front and helped India wrapped up Windies’ first innings on 311 on day two.

Moreover, Umesh Yadav achieved the best-ever bowling figures by an Indian pacer at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad. He went past Zaheer Khan’s record four for 69 against New Zealand in 2010. However, before Umesh, Ravichandran Ashwin had taken two six-wicket hauls at this venue in the past.

In addition to that, Umesh took the wickets of Shai Hope (36), Roston Chase (106), Shane Dowrich (30), Jason Holder (52), Devendra Bishoo (2) and Shannon Gabriel (0). His teammate and spinner, Kuldeep Yadav also supported him, as he picked up three wickets from his spell.

Furthermore, Umesh Yadav is one of India’s premier pacers in Test cricket.

The fast bowler had achieved the landmark after he cleaned bowled centurion Roston Chase (106) in the first session on day two. Also, Yadav had taken 68 innings to get his second five-wicket haul, which is most by an Indian bowler in Tests. Earlier, Ishant Sharma had taken 53 innings between 2007 and 2011 for his two five-wicket hauls.

However, Jasprit Bumrah has lavished praise on his fellow teammate, Umesh Yadav and said he’s glad that hardwork has paid off.
