The Karnataka cricketer, Mayank Agarwal earned his maiden India call-up for the two-match Tests series against Windies starting from October 4.
Meanwhile, Agarwal has been in scintillating form in the last 18 months across formats. He has hammered over 2000 runs across all the formats in the last domestic season. Furthermore, he smashed a double hundred against South Africa A and a century during a quadrangular series this season. It forced chief selector MSK Prasad to say that the Karnataka batsman will get his due soon.
Moreover, Mayank Agarwal continued with his job as he scored a well-made 90 in the two-day practice game against Windies. However, it was his body of work, rather than Saturday???s knock, that earned him a maiden call-up.
On the other hand, young batsmen Prithvi Shaw and Hanuma Vihari retained their spots in the side. They have impressed in the recent domestic games and finds their place in the squad. Furthermore, Mohammad Siraj also earned his debut call on the back of some consistent domestic performances.
