An 18-year-old Prithvi Shaw made a dream Test debut, as he smashed a superb century in his debut innings against the Windies in Rajkot. It was a knock which had class written all over it. However, Shaw was not overawed with Test cricket and looked at complete ease in front of the Windies attack. Meanwhile, the chairman of selectors, MSK Prasad heaped praises on Prithvi and termed him as a special talent.

MSK feels if Prithvi is nurtured well he can serve Indian cricket for a long time. He was, however, in awe of Prithvi whom he believes is an unbelievable talent.

“He batted like someone who has played 50 Test matches,” Prasad was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
The chairman of selectors decided to go with the kid prodigy ahead of experienced campaigners like Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan. Both of them had pretty ordinary outings in England. On the other hand, Prithvi grabbed his opportunity with both the hands.
“He is an unbelievable talent, and hopefully if he is nurtured well, he will serve Indian cricket for a long long, time,” he added.
Not only MSK Prasad, but many former great cricketers had heaped praises on the youngster who looked a class apart at such a tender age. Prithvi has shown maturity and has almost confirmed his place in the Indian Test team for the Tour Down Under slated to be played later in the year.
However, Shaw completed the triple of scoring a century on Ranji Trophy debut, Duleep Trophy debut and Test debut. It was a great achievement from the youngster who aspires to be the next big thing in Indian cricket.
