India vs Windies 2018: Prithvi Shaw Showed Tremendous Maturity - Dilip Vengsarkar

The applause for Prithvi Shaw continues to flourish. The legendary players of the game across the world took their time to laud the effort made by the 18-year-old. The latest one to join the admirer’s list is India’s former great, Dilip Vengsarkar.

The swashbuckling knock by Prithvi Shaw proved he belonged to the Test cricket. During his knock, he also surpassed many records that came his way. All in all, it was a fantastic day at the office for the youngster.

The former India great termed the 18-year-old was pretty impressive for the way he selected his strokes. He added the youngster played with a pure maturity to make his way for a hundred on his debut game.

Further, he lauded the selectors for launching Prithvi Shaw in a right time. He feels it is important to give the players the right opportunities for the betterment of Indian cricket. Dilip quoted it happened with Prithvi Shaw.

“We know that he likes to play his shots. But today, the manner in which he selected his strokes was very impressive. What Prithvi showed was pure cricketing maturity, something rare for an 18-year-old,” said Vengsarkar.

”It’s important that players get an opportunity at the right time. That seems to have happened with Prithvi and he has ensured that he made every opportunity count,” he added.

However, as Dilip Vengsarkar quoted, the youngster played with maturity during his sterling knock. All in all, it was a great effort from the 18-year-old on the other day at Rajkot against the Windies’ bowlers.

Meanwhile, it seems like Shaw has already booked his ticket for the Australian tour. It would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the youngster in the coming few months.
