India vs Windies 2018: Shikhar Dhawan Would be Disappointed - Ajit Agarkar

It wasn’t a great series for Shikhar Dhawan, as far as his career is concerned. With the form he is in the recent past, one would have expected stunning knocks from his willow against the ordinary Windies bowling attack. However, it wasn’t the case, as he failed to convert his starts. Meanwhile, Ajit Agarkar also feels the same.

Shikhar Dhawan was knocked out for a standard score by Oshane Thomas and a couple of times, the left-hander failed to deal with Ashley Nurse. Perhaps. Shikhar Dhawan might not look into the dismissals much, as the upcoming few months will be played on the bouncy tracks, as far as ODI games are concerned.

Apart from Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu have cashed in the poor bowling display of the Windies. The trio made their mark in the series and also grabbed the headlines as well.

Meanwhile, Ajit Agarkar feels Shikhar Dhawan would consider himself a bit unlucky for missing the runs in his tally. However, he added the stylish southpaw would make his way back in T20I series.

”That is the second time he played on Oshane Thomas on to the wicket. I think the extra Pace and the bounce would have got better of him. yeah, he would like to get some runs. In a series, where the rest of the players around him got the runs, he missed out in all the games,” Ajit Agarkar said to ESPN Cricinfo.

”So, those top 3 are crucial for India’s success. Yeah, most of the team success depends on the top 3. Though we got Ambati Rayudu at number 4, there is still a long way to go. So, those three need to do well for Team India. In them, Shikhar Dhawan is the key part of it. So, he would be disappointed with the series,” he added.

However, as Ajit Agarkar said, Shikhar Dhawan would be disappointed with the outcome, as far as his game is concerned. Meanwhile, he would prepare himself for the T20I series against the very same opposition.
