Team India was able to start off the day on a positive note as they took out the lower order of the Windies in a jiffy. The hosts were able to scalp the remaining three wickets after conceding only 16 runs. Roston Chase was able to bring his fourth Test hundred and his second while playing against India. Meanwhile, the star of the show was Umesh Yadav who scalped all the remaining three wickets.

The Indian fast bowler was able to get the ball to reverse as he picked his best bowling figures. Yadav was able to take 6-88 which was his second five-wicket haul.

India was able to dominate the first session.

Thus, India was able to achieve their first target of the morning as they bundled out the Windies quickly. Furthermore, Prithvi Shaw continued from where he left in the Rajkot Test match.

Shaw put on an exhibition of fine strokeplay as he once again showed great technique. The prodigy batsman timed the ball to perfection as he batted in the topmost gear. There were no signs of nerves as Shaw showed his class in his only second Test match. Shaw scored his first fifty off just 39 balls as he continued his dream form going. Thus, it has been a fine start to the young batsman’s career.

On the other hand, KL Rahul struggled to find his form once again. Rahul could not find his timing going as he scored only four runs from 25 balls. The right-hander tried to leave the ball, however, he could not take out his bat in time.

Meanwhile, Windies wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich suffered a blow to his knee while keeping for a ball that kept low. Dowrich was then replaced by stand-in wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton.
