India vs Windies 2018: Twitter Reacts as Windies Makes a Solid Comeback
Updated - 14 Oct 2018, 01:53 PM
The Windies were able to win the opening session of the Day three as they scalped six wickets and gave away only 59 runs. The visitor’s skipper Jason Holder was the star of the show as he scalped a five-wicket haul. Holder was right on the money with his line and length. Thus, the swing bowler was able to reap fruits for the same. Holder was able to dismiss Ajinkya Rahane as the ball took a steep bounce.
Ravindra Jadeja could not continue his good form going as he was plumbed in front by Holder. Rishabh Pant also perished in an attempt to hit the ball in the air. Furthermore, Kuldeep Yadav’s off stump was sent cartwheeling by the incoming delivery from Jason Holder.
Jason Holder scalped a five-wicket haul.
Umesh Yadav could only add two runs as his outside edge was caught by stand-in wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton. Therefore, it was a fine comeback from the Windies as India had put their noses in front after the final session on Day 2. The tourists were able to bounce back and certainly, the return of their skipper has been a shot in the arm for them.
Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur came out to bat despite limping while running between the wickets.
Ravichandran Ashwin was able to add some crucial runs for the team. However, India was able to take a lead of 56 runs. Ashwin was sent back by Shannon Gabriel who bagged three wickets.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj and Hanuma Vihar are released from the Test squad to take part in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the opening session of Day 3:
Absolutely delighted to see the change and growth of Jason Holder the bowler. He is not your bits and pieces cricketer anymore.
Quality stuff from WI today. ????#INDvWI— Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) October 14, 2018
Jason Holder is such an impressive cricketer. During the roller coaster ride of Windes cricket he is a shining light. Scores runs, picks up wickets & plays the game in the right manner. #respect #INDvWI

50 runs. 5 wickets and counting. Jason Holder’s made his presence felt….and also, reminded us of his absence at Rajkot. #IndvWI

Jason Holder picks up five wickets in an innings—what a difference he has made to this Windies side.
The last Windies pacer to take 5 wickets in an innings in India — Kenny Benjamin at Mohali in 1994 — the last time WI won a Test in India#INDvWI #INDvsWI
