Team India rode on to a superb partnership between Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli to go 1-0 up in the ODI series against Windies convincingly.
Meanwhile, Windies mounted a huge total of 322 runs in their quota of 50 overs after opting to bat first. Shimron Hetmyer smashed a brilliant hundred including six fours and six each to post a challenging task ahead of India.
However, the host got off to a poor start losing their inform opener Shikhar Dhawan early. Oshanee Thomas poised questions early with the new ball as he knocked the timber of the dashing southpaw. Since Dhawan’s departure, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma took control of the scheme of things. They dominated the proceedings as Kohli looked to chase down the target quite easily.
It was only the ninth over of India’s chase when Kemar Roach was steaming in with good pace. Virat Kohli took a single off the first ball of the over to give the strike to Rohit Sharma. Sharma, who was overshadowed by Kohli till now, got the better of his skipper with an elegant looking flick.

Rohit Sharma, who has been in good form of-late made no effort to glance the ball over the square leg region. It was just sheer timing and the ball almost carried all the way for a six. It fell just short of the boundary and bounced once before going into the ropes.
However, it was the reaction of Virat Kohli that stole the whole show. He had a keen look at the ball and went wow as the ball almost crossed the boundary ropes.
