Ahead of the Test series against India, the head coach of the Windies, Stuart Law is confident of his side giving a tough fight to the hosts. Law relied his trust on the batsman to do the job for the team to yield the better results in, the longer version of the game.

However, it has been a long time since Windies toured India across the format. Due to tensions between the board and the players, they walked from the mid-tour when they last visited India under Dwayne Bravo’s captaincy.

We are going India to compete – Stuart Law

The head coach quoted the top six batsmen of the team are going to put their hands up in dealing the Indian attack. He is aware the Indian team is strong at home, but he wants to turn the tables this time.

Further, Stuart Law also expressed his confidence on the bowlers to come good against India’s world-class batting lineup. He went on to say they have a handful of plans to deliver the goods against India.

“Our top six are going to stick their hand up and score the big runs, they are capable of doing so. If we can put runs on the board we can create pressure by giving the bowlers something to work,” Law said in a video posted by Windies Cricket on Twitter.

“Having said, India isn’t going to be easy. They are the no.1 Test team in the world for a particular reason. We have to play really well to not only get into the contest but also we can pressure them into mistakes. We are going there to compete, we are going to keep fighting till the very end. Just never know, what can happen,” he added.

However, as Stuart Law said, the result will depend on the way his top six batters display their skills. With the Indian pitches set to host, one can expect the turning conditions are waiting for the Windies batsmen.
