India’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal believes the five-match One Day International series against Windies would be a good preparation for Australia tour. However, there is no denying in the fact that there will be a day and night difference in the conditions of India and Australia. Furthermore, there will be a chalk and cheese difference between the quality of both teams.

Chahal has done well in the recent past for the Indian team and he would like to continue with his good form. The leg-spinner has provided wickets in the middle overs and has hunted in tandem with his spin partner Kuldeep Yadav. Both of them have been instrumental in the success of the team as they have provided the crucial breakthroughs.

Chahal has had two ordinary series.

Chahal said he is not going to take Windies lightly as they have the ability to spring in a surprise. The Haryana leg-spinner said the Windies has some prolific players.

“I am not going to take the West Indies team lightly,” Chahal told Timesofindia.com in an exclusive interview.

“They are an amazing side in limited overs cricket. They have game changers and big hitters. It is going to be an exciting series,” Chahal added.

Chahal said the five-match series against Windies will serve as good preparation for Australia tour. India will begin their Australia tour with a three-match T20I series from November 21.

“The limited overs series against the West Indies will be good preparation for me against Australia. I just want to give my best in the series. I want to get fully prepared for the Australia tour,” Chahal went on to add.

In fact, Chahal’s form hasn’t been impressive in the recent past. He had scalped only six wickets in the five matches of the Asia Cup. Furthermore, he had a mundane tour of England. Thus, the leg-spinner will like to turn the tables in the series against Windies. He said he learned his lessons in Asia Cup.

Chahal will like to return to form.

“I learned a lot from both the Asia Cup and England tour. I know I failed to take too many wickets but both series taught me a lot,” Yuzvendra Chahal said.
The leg-spinner said sometimes restricting the batsmen is also important rather than to take wickets. Chahal said he tries to outsmart the batsmen with his variations.
“Sometimes controlling the run flow is more important than taking wickets,” the youngster said. “I believe in trying different variations and confusing batsmen,” Chahal added.

Yuzvendra Chahal will definitely like to keep his good show going for the Men in Blue. He will like to come up roses against Windies as well as on the Australia tour.
