Meanwhile, spinner Ashley Nurse, who takes his batting quite seriously, made 40 to add misery to the Indian bowling attack. Lara said the victory would give his side a lot of confidence ahead of the 2019 World Cup. Also, Brain praised skipper Jason Holder for properly leading his troops.

Lara praises Shai Hopes

“Cricket is tough in India, and for us to be at this stage (1-1) with two games to go, the lads will come out smiling in Mumbai, the venue for the next cricketing action. “Hope is an excellent player. The innings at Headingley was vital in his career. He bats at no.3 for Windies and should look at Kohli who bats in the same position for India. There will be occasions when he won’t be scoring runs, but once you get to the 20s-25s, you should convert it into a big one. Hope now understands his role, and I am very happy for him” Lara told Cricketnext.

The legendary Windies batsman also spoke of the Indian batting line-up and said Rishabh Pant could come in at no.5. He felt that getting Kuldeep Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar at no.7 and no.8 is not a good strategy.

Lara added India had got a solid top three, but the other batters down the order lack the application and don’t have much idea on how to build an innings. In the end, he said MS Dhoni, who is going through a rough patch, should bat at No.6.
