Flamboyant Caribbean batsman Chris Gayle is known to speak his mind. He is a very outspoken person and doesn’t shy away from saying anything. Gayle said that with so many prospects in India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should allow their players to take part in different Twenty20 leagues across the cricketing globe. The southpaw was present at the Blades of Glory Cricket Museum in Pune.
“In India, there are so many cricketers that a lot of talented cricketers don’t get to play in the IPL. I would love to see them play for other leagues as well. Some of those talented players won’t get a chance to play for the national team as it is always hard to get into the Indian team. So this way they can get some experience of playing international level cricket,” ToI quoted the Universe Boss, Gayle.
Gayle was at his imperious best at the start of the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL). He smashed a couple of the fifties and a century before fading out. He failed to put up a substantial performance in the latter part of the tournament which eventually led to Kings XI Punjab’s ouster from the cash-rich tournament.
However, Gayle said that form is a part and parcel of the game and people should move on after the tournament is over.
“There is always a room for improvement. You can’t sit and say that I am happy with my performance or not. Given the fact I started well (this season), and then I fell back, but it is just a game of cricket and we should move on,” Gayle said when asked if he was satisfied with his IPL show for Kings XI, this season.

Gayle admits shifting from white ball to red ball cricket is difficult:
Meanwhile, Gayle donated his bat with which he scored 104 to the museum. He is one among those very few players who have also smashed two triple centuries in Test cricket. He was asked that what does he do for managing patients with disdain.
“Did you say Universe Boss of T20 cricket? Well, I am boss of all formats. When you play all forms of cricket, you need to make some necessary adjustments as quickly as possible. I have played so much of cricket that it isn’t a big problem for me now, but when I had just started, changing over quickly was a bit tentative. At times, to have the timing (right) and make the adjustments from white ball to red-ball cricket was (a little difficult). But as you go on and get some experience, it is just another game,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the pugnacious cricketer was further asked that whether he is now preparing for ball cricket.
However, Chris Gayle said that he wasn’t so much aware of the speculations which have been doing rounds.
“I haven’t read about it in detail. A lot of people are talking about it and speculating things, but I will have to wait and see what the actual thing is,” he maintained.
