The Indian Women’s cricket team completed their first day of the Yo-Yo test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Jhulan Goswami shared the picture of the team sweating it out in the national academy. It included many of the Indian girls who had a good time at the Academy in Bengaluru.

They were congratulated by many of their fans who wished them all the best for the tough times ahead. It was one of those first times that the Indian women’s team underwent the Yo-Yo test.

Recognition of the girls

The Women’s team suddenly came into realisation after their impressive campaign in the World Cup last year. They were on the verge of lifting their maiden World Cup title. However, they faltered in the final hurdle and lost the final against hosts England by just nine runs.

The match was meant to be won for the Indian colts. However, they couldn’t cope with the pressure. It was a great spell by Anya Shrubsole which handed the hosts a famous victory.

The World Cup saw several match-winning performances from the girls. None of them was better than the brilliant 171 by the current T20I skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur against the mighty Aussies.

She, by all means, tormented the bowling attack with her exceptional display of strokeplay. Harmanpreet looked in complete control of proceedings and helped India post a mammoth total of 280 off in just 42 overs.

The Indian Women’s team received some criticism lately when they failed to win the Asia Cup for the first time early this year. Bangladesh managed to beat them in a high intense final.

However, looking at the further assignments, to pass the mandatory yo-yo test would be beneficial for the Indian Women’s team.
