India's Tour Of Australia 2020-21: Cricket Australia Confirms Entry Of 50 Per Cent Crowd In The Pink-Ball Test Match

Good news for cricket fans came on Tuesday when Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed that upcoming India’s tour will witness the return of the audience in the stadiums. Notably, the India National Cricket Team is set to tour Australia for 3 months with the tour consisting of 3 ODIs, 3T20Is, and 4 Test matches.
The tour is scheduled to commence from November 27 with the ODIs taking place initially, followed by the T20Is, and then the tour will conclude with the Test series. Although the ODI and T20I games will be played in empty stadiums, the Test series will witness the entry of fans back in the stadium after the COVID-19 havoc. This will be the first international cricket series after the Coronavirus Pandemic to witness people in the stadium in such large numbers.

The SCG, which will host the traditional Pink Test from January 7 – the third in the Vodafone Test Series – is limited to 50 per cent of total capacity or 23,000 fans.
With the SCG hosting two ODIs and two T20s, fans have the option of buying a two-day pass to each format
Canberra’s Manuka Oval, host of the third ODI and first T20, promises to be one of the most sought-after tickets with about 6,000 seats up for grabs.

The Adelaide Oval is also restricted to 50 per cent capacity, with 27,000 tickets available for each day of the opening day-night Test, the only one India captain Virat Kohli will feature in before he returns to India for the birth of his first child.
Brisbane’s Gabba venue can host up to 30,000 fans, or 75 per cent of its capacity.
At present, the Victorian Government has approved 25,000 fans for each day of the Boxing Day Test across public, member and corporate tickets.
India Announced Revised Squads For The Australian Tour
The Indian side looks in a bit of misery with injuries and other happenings going on with the team. Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been granted paternity leave and he won’t be a part of the last three Test matches. Indian opener Rohit Sharma won’t be available for the limited-overs cricket and his availability in the Test side will be subject to his fitness.

Wriddhiman Saha is also injured and there is no update as to whether he will participate or not. Varun Chakravarthy has been ruled out of the T20I series owing to a shoulder injury and has been replaced by T Natarajan. It will be interesting to see as to how the Men in Blue team pans out in tough Australian conditions without their senior superstars.
