IPL 2018: 50th Match: MI vs KXIP – Mumbai Indians Predicted XI
Mumbai Indians will serve as host to the Kings XI Punjab in the 50th match of the IPL 2018. The reigning champions have a slim chance of making the playoffs from the back door provided other teams do them the favour. Early losses in the initial phase of the tournament are now hurting the defending champions.
On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab put themselves into a tricky situation after losing their last three matches. However, unlike Mumbai Indians, they hold their fortunes of qualifying for the playoffs in their own hands. But they need to win their remaining two fixtures to clear any doubt over their final four finish.
Meanwhile, Mumbai will like to stay in contention as they are still in the race. Furthermore, Mumbai had won by six wickets when these two teams had met early in the season.
Here is a look at the Predicted Playing XI of the Mumbai Indians
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav is one of the positives for the Mumbai Indians. The right-hander has accumulated 473 runs thus far in the tournament.
Evin Lewis
Evin Lewis had scored a fine knock of 60 in the last match against Rajasthan Royals. The southpaw batsman will like to keep his good form going.
Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan has batted with freedom in this edition. The young wicketkeeper-batsman has expressed himself and he is fearless in his approach.
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma hasn’t had the best season with the bat and that has led to the downfall of the team. Mumbai Indians success rate goes higher when their skipper scores.
Kieron Pollard
Kieron Pollard should make his way back into the last XI. However, Pollard was inconsistent in the opportunities he has received. All-rounder will like to make a stronger comeback.
Ben Cutting has provided good finishing touches to the Mumbai Indians innings. Furthermore, the Australian all-rounder can also be utilized in the bowling department.
Mumbai Indians will like to hang on in the contest.
Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya is getting breakthroughs but he is proving to be expensive. The Indian all-rounder has scalped 18 wickets thus far.
Krunal Pandya
Krunal Pandya is bowling economically. Further, the southpaw is providing finishing touches to the Mumbai innings towards the fag end.
Mitchell McClenaghan
Mitchell McClenaghan went wicketless in the last match. However, the Kiwi fast bowler was economical in his spell.
Mayank Markande
Mayank Markande has lost his spark in the last few games. However, the young leg-spinner is expected to get better in executing his plans.
Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah has looked a bit out of sorts in this ongoing IPL season. Bumrah has failed to deliver in the crunch situation on a couple of occasions.
