It was an impressive performance by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 14 runs in the 51st match of the competition. Hence they are still in the hunt for the playoffs race. The victory was largely built around two magnificent innings from the blade of AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali.

In the latter half, it was a stunning one-handed catch at the boundary rope from de Villiers. It eventually turned out to be the most talking point during the match.

It was a simply mesmerizing catch, to say the least. Alex Hales was facing Moeen Ali and the right-hander came dancing down the track to put in over the deep mid wicket crowd. However, it wasn’t to be as de Villiers leaped in the air and plucked the ball out of thin air. He balanced his jump perfectly despite being so near to the ropes. He jumped almost 3.5 to 4 ft and it definitely has a big chance to win the Vivo Perfect Catch of the Season.

RCB were in a desperate situation from there last three matches and needed some of their stalwarts to rise to the occasion.

De Villiers did it in splendid style. He was also supported brilliantly by Moeen Ali who smashed a brilliant 65 of 34 deliveries and shared a more than 100 runs partnership with de Villiers.

However, both were dismissed in the same over which brought Hyderabad back into the game.

Colin de Grandhomme and Sarfaraz Khan played a couple of cameos which eventually propelled Bangalore to a huge score of 219 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Grandhomme smashed 17-ball 40 which included four fours and as many sixes while Sarfaraz scored a quickfire 22 of just eight deliveries which were studded with three fours and an exceptional six.

Danielle’s Insta Story:

While the social media was flooded with congratulatory text for AB de Villiers. Interestingly, it was his wife Danielle, who updated her Instagram story of him taking the catch.

However, she edited the picture hilariously and made him look like a Superman.

Danielle captioned the picture “Not gonna lie, I’ve known this all along #mysuperman.”
