Kings XI Punjab opening batsmen, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have been a force to reckon with in this edition of the Indian Premier League.
The two batsmen have their personal agendas to deal with this season after being released by Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the IPL auctions 2018.
While Rahul went for an exorbitant sum of INR 11 crores in this year’s auctions, Gayle was left unsold on Day 1 before Sehwag swooped in to bag the Jamaican to Day 2.
Both RCB rejects firing at all cylinders donning the silver and reds of Kings XI Punjab. In a recent interaction, Rahul claimed to bat with the Universe Boss had made his life easy.
“He always plays with a big smile on his face and is a complete entertainer. Also, he is the most destructive T20 opener in the world. It is a privilege to open the batting with him, and it makes my life so much easier,” KL Rahul told PTI.

With Gayle’s pyrotechnics taking centre-stage, bowlers do not have time to pay attention to the quickest half-century in the tournament. Thereby, making it easier for the batsman.

“When the opposition bowling is focusing on him, that takes a little bit pressure out of me. I can just take my time, and I can enjoy my cricket,” added the 26-year-old.
The two have shared the same dugout in the IPL in the past few seasons for the Royal Challengers. Therefore, the two enjoy the good chemistry between themselves.
“We have played together for a few years now at RCB, and now we are together. We enjoy each other’s company. A great human being. So much fun to be around. A complete entertainer.” affirmed the Indian International.

Also, for Rahul, there is much to learn from the big Jamaican who enjoys even at pressure-cooker situations of the game. It puts pressure on the opposition back.
“That is what I learnt from Chris. He is always playing the game with a big smile on his face. And he enjoys entertaining the crowd even when under pressure. I think when the opposition is up against him they are always under pressure,” concluded KL Rahul.
