IPL 2018: Chennai Super Kings Favourites to Lift Third IPL Title According to a Survey

We are just hours away from the final of Indian Premier League’s season eleven and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (May 27).

Both teams have played some exceptional cricket all through the tournament and hence they are standing here.

Chennai has defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad on all the three occasions in which both teams met in the tournament.

However, they should be well aware of the fact that Hyderabad is a strong unit and has some exceptional players in their kitty.

Given their dominance over Hyderabad and their knack of winning titles, Super Kings’ unit has been voted as the favourites to win the 2018 edition of the tournament.

It is according to the survey conducted by the Indian Sports Fan which is an online largest sports fan community.

The survey also highlighted Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the most revered player out of the top 12 players. He has got 27.3 percent votes. It is being followed by Indian skipper Virat Kohli with 22 percent. Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson has also got 20.11 percent votes.

Meanwhile, the most spectacular stadium is the Wankhede Stadium with 30% votes. Kolkata’s Eden Gardens stands on the second spot with 20.22 percent votes.

Sunrisers were the most dominant side in early stages of the tournament. However, they ended the group stage with four back-to-back defeats. They are too good a team to lose four consecutive matches to a particular team. Hence, the odds are slightly in favour of Hyderabad.

Super Kings also have had a good season far. However, their bowling department has been a bit expensive at times.

Furthermore, their batsmen have more often made up for their bowler’s expensive spells. Ambati Rayudu is having a great run in the tournament while the form of Dhoni has also been a positive for Chennai.

Now, let’s see what transpires in few hours time when Chennai Super Kings will wrestle with the Hyderabad-based outfit.
