Chennai Super Kings are riding high on the performances of Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni in the ongoing IPL.

The duo is in fine touch, as they won multiple games for the side single-handedly this season.

Former Indian cricketer, Kris Srikkanth believes with both these batsmen in the batting line up, Chennai Super Kings can chase any total. MS Dhoni has been in prolific form and is turning back the years with his knocks.

On the other hand, Ambati Rayudu is looking class apart. He is the backbone of Chennai’s batting, and his form has helped them win two important games over the past week.

Rayudu is also one of the leading run scorers of the tournament, as he managed an impressive 283 runs in just six games.

Both Rayudu and Dhoni were in the forefront of Chennai’s chase against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday. After a flurry of wickets, the duo stood firm and took Chennai to another crucial win.

“The knock by MS Dhoni against RCB should rank as one of the best he has played in the shortest format. Finishing the chase in his usual fashion is only expected, but I was more impressed with the way he started. The body language was so positive from ball one that he believed he could go past the line without much hassle,” wrote Srikkanth in Times of India.

“I truly admire the fierce commitment of Dhoni. Looks like the man is on a mission and it will take something special from his opponents to stop his march. Add the form Ambati Rayudu is in, and I don’t think any total posted against CSK looks safe enough.”

Chennai High On Confidence

Returning to IPL fold after two years, Chennai Super Kings looks like they never lost touch. The heavyweights continued their mesmerising form and won a couple of very close games. They remain at the top of the table with just one defeat in six games.

Shane Watson, Suresh Raina have been contributing in the batting lineup as well.

While their bowling looks solid with plenty of options for Dhoni to choose from. The former Indian skipper is sparsely using Ravindra Jadeja as a bowler this season. It speaks volumes about the bowling talent the team possess in their roster.

The team will try to keep up their momentum going into the second half of the tournament.

They have a very good chance to progress to the playoffs this season once again.
