Delhi Daredevils (DD) once again finds itself in troubled waters after half-way stage of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. The Men in Blue have won two matches out of the seven matches – to secure the bottom-most position in the points table.

Daredevils performance in the domestic professional Twenty20 league’s folklore has been mundane. This is not the first time that the team is finding themselves contemplating at another early exit in the tournament.

At least, even the change in a team during the two-day mega-auction could not bring a change in fortune for the Delhi franchise so far. They were hoping for a better performance under a veteran leader Gautam Gambhir.

Unfortunately, Gambhir failed to deliver with the bat and that took its toll on his decision – to step down as the captain of the side.

All is still not lost for the Delhi team as they are in the fray to make to the playoff stage. But Delhi team would know that they should be at the top of their game if they need to give themselves a chance.

Here is how Delhi Daredevils can make it to the final four of the season:

Delhi side has won two matches out of the seven they have played. Thus, Shreyas Iyer led team must win at least five matches out of the remaining seven to give themselves a chance to qualify for the playoffs.

Furthermore, the Men in Blue has the worse Net Run Rate as they have lost by huge margins recently.

Delhi will also have to keep a close eye on the Net Run Rate which can be crucial in the later stages of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Delhi has only once made it to the playoff stage in the history of the IPL.

However, Delhi’s camp must keep their shoulders high as there is still a glimmer of a hope for them.

The Delhi players must believe in themselves that they can qualify for the final four. They must see that hope in each other eyes.

We have seen miracles happening in the first decade of the IPL. Thus, Delhi would like to write their own fairy-tale.

The difficult journey of Delhi Daredevils to make it to the playoff will commence on Monday evening (April 30), as they will take on one of the dominant teams in the form of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
