Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Jacques Kallis on Monday (May 14) said they have their destiny in their hands going into the last two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, Kolkata will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in an all-important clash on May 15. Both the team will be striving for two points and close in on the playoffs berth.

While Kolkata is on the third spot, Rajasthan finds themselves on the fourth place. However, both the team are tied at 12 points each but Kolkata have an advantage of having slightly better Net Run-Rate.

Along with KKR, five other teams are in the fray for a playoff berth. Delhi Daredevils (DD), however, are out of the contentions for a spot.

Destiny is still in our hands –

The former South African legend Kallis admitted that they have their future in their own hands. He also admitted that they want to take one game at a time.

Destiny is still in our hands. If we play two good games of cricket, we are through to the playoffs and that’s what we are interested in… It’s about taking one game at a time and play well tomorrow. We are not really worried about what the rest of the teams are doing,” Kallis told ahead of the game as he was quoted by PTI.

Jacques Kallis also maintained that they want to win both their remaining games. He is hopeful the unit will not worry about the Net Run-Rate.

However, he admitted that it will be there in the back of the mind.

Hopefully we won’t worry about run-rate and we get through with two wins… Yes, it will be in back of our minds but certainly, it won’t be our focus as we go into the game. Winning will be the priority,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kolkata will have a task in hand to stop the inform Jos Buttler and make inroads in Rajasthan set up.
