The 32-year-old Ambati Rayudu has set up the Indian Premier League (IPL) stage on fire. He has been playing the role of a floater and has successfully contributed at possibly every position. On super Sunday, against table-topper Sunrisers Hyderabad, the opener slammed his maiden ton in the history of the IPL.
Rayudu’s hundred ensured a playoff berth for the men in yellow. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side has made it to the playoffs every single time they have participated.
Post the emphatic eight-wicket win at CSK’s second adopted home in Pune, Rayudu spoke to all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.
The Guntur-based Rayudu is happy to be amongst runs this season. He also added that opening the innings with veteran all-rounder Shane Watson has been great. In-form batsman said that it has helped his game.
Moreover, Rayudu said that Bravo motivates him to do well. Interestingly, Bravo revealed that he told Rayudu that he feels a century for him is around the corner during the break.
Rayudu makes it big:
The Windies all-rounder Bravo heaped praise on the run-maker and said that he is one of the very best in the county currently.
The Chennai side is currently placed at the second spot, next to Hyderabad. They have beaten Kane Williamson-led side on both occasions so far in away and home matches.
Rayudu also completed 500 runs in the 2018 IPL. He is only the fourth batsman to achieve the feat, after Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Williamson.
The right-hand explosive batsman Rayudu was earlier named in India’s squad for the away series against England.
Concluding, Ambati Rayudu said that batting at different positions isn’t that difficult as he is a regular in four-day cricket at the domestic level.
“If you are good at four-day cricket, you can bat at any position. I am really happy to be back in the Indian team, hopefully, I will do well there.” Rayudu maintained.
