The highly anticipated Eliminator game of the game unravelled in front of the brilliant Eden Gardens crowd between hosts Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals.

Vistors, Rajasthan Royals, had their task cut out to challenge the knights at their backyard, especially after losing both their encounters in the round-robin league of the tournament.

The crowd at Eden Gardens kept their fingers crossed with the looming clouds above, as rain turned out to a threat in the match.

However, KKR received three early blows, as the likes of Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn and Nitish Rana struggled to survive on a soft pitch.

KKR were reduced to 51-4, before Shubman Gill and Dinesh Karthik resurrected the innings with their priceless partnership. Gill lost his wicket in pursuit of quick runs but not before making an impressive 28.

Just when his team needed his services the most, DK smashed a counter-attacking 52 off 38 balls, entertaining the crowd with four boundaries and two sixes.

However, the box-office moment in the match arrived when Andre Russell took the guard at the crease.

Russell’s muscle murdered Royals bowlers, as he struck five sixes and two boundaries for his 44, taking Kolkata Knight Riders to a total of 169.
