We are just hours away from the final of the Vivo Indian Premier League season eleven and the two top teams of the tournament Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be gearing up for the summit clash.

It will be a mouth-watering contest in our hands on a super Sunday. Both the teams have played some quality cricket all through the tournament and deserve to play the final encounter of the tournament.

Chennai will be bolstered by the fact that they have beaten Sunrisers recently when the two teams met earlier in the tournament.

However, Chennai will be wary of the fact that Hyderabad has a strong unit and any hiccups might prove to be disastrous.

Super Kings defeated Sunrisers in the Qualifier 1st courtesy of an exceptional batting performance from Faf du Plessis. They were nowhere in the game in the second half.

Rashid Khan spun a web around the CSK batsman and reduced them to 61 for six. It was terrific bowling by Hyderabad. However, Du Plessis started finding the gaps towards the later stages of the match which kept Chennai going.

Eventually, they ended up winning by a couple of wickets and with five deliveries to spare. Earlier, it was a brilliant knock of 43 of just 29 deliveries from the blade of Carlos Brathwaite which propelled Hyderabad to a score of 139 in their allotted 20 overs.

Moreover, the great bowling performance from Chennai saw Hyderabad being restricted to a below par score.

Hyderabad, on the other hand, defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the second Qualifier. They were done and dusted and again Rashid’s special brought them back into the match. He smashed a sensational 34 of just 10 deliveries which included a couple of fours and four sixes.

With the ball in hand, the leg-spinner from Afghanistan bagged three crucial wickets which halted KKR’s progress. It was such an impactful performance which single-handedly took Hyderabad to a 13-run victory.

Team Combinations-

Chennai Super Kings:

The yellow brigade is unlikely to tinker with their winning combination from the Qualifier 1st against the same opponents.

At Wankhede Stadium, Karn Sharma might well be employed. However, the chances look slim and they are most likely to retain their previous playing XI

Predicted XI: Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C & wk), Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Lungi Ngidi

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Hyderabad brought in three changes in the previous clash. The inclusion of Khaleel Ahmed was surely a big one. The left-arm seamer went for some stick.

However, it didn’t prove to be costly in the end. Manish Pandey, who has had a horrific IPL so far might be brought back to the XI given the fact that he is a big match player.

Predicted XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Kane Williamson (c), Manish Pandey/Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, Shakib al Hasan, Carlos Brathwaite, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul, Khaleel Ahmed/Sandeep Sharma.

IPL 2018: Final, Chennai Super Kings v Sunrisers Hyderabad - Match Prediction
Photo by: Vipin Pawar /SPORTZPICS for BCCI

Super Kings have defeated Sunrisers on all three occasions in the tournament. However, we must keep this in mind that Hyderabad is a too good team to lose four consecutive matches to a single team.

I have a gut feeling that Rashid Khan will again come up with a strong performance. Hence. I am with Sunrisers Hyderabad going against the odds.
