Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2018. Both these teams had ended at the top of the points table in the league stage fixtures. Thus, it is going to be a battle between the best sides in the tournament.
However, the Super Kings clearly holds its wood on Sunrisers if we consider the head-to-head battle in this season. Men in Yellow has won all the three matches against the Orange Army in this season. Meanwhile, looking at head to head can be an overstatement especially in the shortest format of the game.
Chennai has ticked the right boxes and they would like to clear the last hurdle of the season. Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team will aim for their third IPL title.
Here is a look at the Predicted Playing XI of the Chennai Super Kings:
Shane Watson:
Shane Watson was dismissed in the first qualifier without troubling the scorers.
Thus, the Australian all-rounder would be desperate to make his contribution in the final of the tournament.
Faf du Plessis:
Faf du Plessis place was not certain in the league matches.
However, the South African skipper showed that he can be a match-winner on his day. du Plessis was able to rescue CSK from troubled waters.
Suresh Raina:
Suresh Raina has had a mixed season thus far. Consequently, the veteran southpaw batsman will like to come up good in the all-important final against SRH.
Ambati Rayudu is in dream form in this season of the tournament. The right-hander will like to continue with his good work.
However, the CSK’s star performer was dismissed for a golden duck in the last match against SRH.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is batting in a different league altogether.
Dhoni experience will be vital in the crucial stages of the final. CSK captain has always diligently handled the crunch situation.
Dwayne Bravo:
Dwayne Bravo had a fine last game as he scalped two wickets and gave away only 25 runs in his quota of four overs.
Bravo has done an excellent job in the death overs for CSK.
Ravindra Jadeja:
Chennai will aim to get their third IPL title.
Ravindra Jadeja hasn’t yet delivered the goods the CSK. Jadeja had bowled well against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the league stage.
Hence, the all-rounder will like to come up with better performance.
Deepak Chahar:
Deepak Chahar has impressed in this season of the IPL. The Rajasthan bowler has done a fine job in the powerplay overs when he has got the ball to swing and seam.
Harbhajan Singh:
Harbhajan Singh hasn’t done justice to his role. Subsequently, the veteran off-spinner will like to make his presence felt in the most important match of the season for CSK.
Shardul Thakur:
Shardul Thakur had proved to be expensive in the last match. However, the fast bowler was able to provide the finishing touch with the bat.
Lungi Ngidi:
Lungi Ngidi is one of the positive for the Chennai Super Kings. The South African speedster has bowled with control as well as accuracy.
