Suresh Raina said it is good to note the growth of players like Ambati Rayudu. The Chennai Super Kings opener has scored 535 runs in the 12 matches he has played for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing IPL 2018.
Consequently, Ambati Rayudu was able to get a place in the Indian One Day International squad for the England tour.
Thus, Rayudu was able to reap fruits for his fine performances. Men in Blue is scheduled to play three One-Dayers in the English conditions.
Suresh Raina said as quoted by IANS,
“Ambati Rayudu has benefitted after playing well in the league matches. However, he was unfortunate to miss out in the Indian team even after scoring a hundred against Sri Lanka in the 2014 One-Day series. It feels good when a player performs well and he receives a national call-up. I am hopeful that he is able to do well in England”.
Raina also opened about on how a team likes to tackle different phases when they go out to bat. Raina added,
“We have performed well as we have batted with responsibility. Batting depends on the powerplay overs. In the first six overs, we try to play our shots. We try to rotate the strike from over six to nine. Until the 14th over, we try to play according to the situation and the bowler”.
Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli are playing a never-ending contest as far as the leading run-scorers in the IPL history are concerned. Sometimes Raina tops the lists, whereas, sometimes Virat Kohli takes over from him.
Raina added on the subject,
“Sometimes I am leading the race, and sometimes Virat Kohli is leading. It feels nice to note that the top five run-getters of the IPL are Indian players. However, it feels even better when your team goes on to win the title”.
Suresh Raina has thus far scored 315 in the 11 innings for the Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing edition.
Raina has done a fine job, and he would like to continue his form. Chennai has already qualified for the playoffs stages. Men in Yellow will now take on Delhi Daredevils on May 18 at latter’s home den.
