IPL 2018: Hardik Pandya Gets Emotional After Being Retained by Mumbai Indians
Hardik Pandya’s fairytale association with Mumbai Indians is set to continue, as the all-rounder along with Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah got retained by the franchise on Thursday (January 4).
Pandya’s first shot to limelight came when he made his first appearance in the Indian Premier League. The three-time IPL champions signed him in 2015, and it turned out to be an inspired decision, as he went on to become an integral part of the team. In the very first season, he made a big impression with an unbeaten 31-ball 61 against Kolkata Knight Riders and followed it up with a brilliant outing in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy.
The performance helped him to get his maiden call from Team India, and the right-handed batsman is now an integral part of the national team across formats.

Time and again, Pandya has reiterated that he owes a lot to his IPL franchise for his meteoric rise in cricket and once again expressed his delight on Thursday after being retained.
The 24-year old took to Twitter to post an emotional message, writing:
“Mumbai Indians is where I began my successful journey in cricket. I am privileged to continue being a part of the MI family. #CricketMeriJaan @mipaltan”

Meanwhile, the all-rounder is currently in South Africa with the team for the upcoming three-match Test series against the Proteas. The upcoming series is going to be one of Pandya’s toughest challenges in his short career so far, and he will be looking to put up a good show to further enhance his reputation.
