Rajasthan Royals (RR) have found themselves in a pretty tough situation after losing all-important fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets at Eden Gardens on Tuesday night.

Jaipur-based outfit revived their hopes of qualification to the playoffs courtesy of impressive victories against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and then Mumbai Indians (MI).

However, their defeat against KKR has put themselves under severe pressure. They need to win the final match and hope that other results go their way. However, they need to win the final match by a big margin.

One of the foremost reason behind Rajasthan’s revival in the tournament has been the form of wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler. He has provided brisk starts on several occasions after being escalated as the opener of the team.

In the match against the Indians, Buttler became an only second player after Virender Sehwag to smash five consecutive half-centuries in IPL.

The 27-year-old Buttler remained unbeaten on 95 as Rajasthan chased down the total of 169 with utmost comfort.

Even on May 15, he got Rajasthan off to a flying start. Buttler smashed 28 runs in the third over of Shivam Mavi. He was eventually dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav as he attempted a reverse sweep while being caught at the point region.

Buttler and Stokes leave for England:

Meanwhile, Buttler will leave for England and won’t be part of the Rajasthan squad in the last match and the playoffs if they do make it.

Ben Stokes will also fly back to England for the Test series against Pakistan starting from May 24. Hence it will be a pretty difficult task for Rajasthan to qualify for the playoffs.

However, Buttler is still optimistic and said that he will watch the match on Saturday to see his team making it to the playoffs.

“A massive thank you to everyone involved in the very special @rajasthanroyals set up! What an amazing few weeks in India with some fantastic memories made on and off the pitch. Such a great changing room to be a part of an incredible family feel the franchise has developed. Have loved my time with everyone and I will be watching on Saturday as we make it through to the playoffs!! #hallabol,” wrote Buttler.
