IPL 2018: KKR Ready for Must-win Game against Hyderabad - Jacques Kallis

Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) head coach Jacques Kallis has admitted that his team is ready for the fight in the must-win game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 19 (Saturday).

While Hyderabad have already qualified for the playoffs, Kolkata is supposed to win this game to secure their berth for the next round of the Indian Premier League.

However, it will be an uphill task as Hyderabad will look to go into the playoffs with a win. The Sunrisers are coming from the back of two defeats and will be desperate to hit the winning notes.

“Yes, it’s a must-win game and the team needs to put up a competitive performance to make it to the playoffs,” Kallis was quoted as saying by PTI.

Meanwhile, KKR subsequently struggled to put up a consistent performance so far in this league. They have done well in bits and pieces but will have to put their best feet forward against the table toppers.

Kolkata lost the last match when both teams played against each other at the iconic Eden Gardens. The Knight Riders will look to complete the revenge and secure their place in the playoffs.

Placed third in the points table with 14 points, KKR will have to beat SRH to confirm its spot in the playoffs. If they lose, they side has to hope for other results to go its way.

Hyderabad have played good cricket: Jacques Kallis

The legendary all-rounder Kallis admitted that the Sunrisers have played some good cricket throughout the season.

Further, he added that KKR needs to their best game to derail the table-toppers.

“They (Sunrisers Hyderabad) have played some good cricket. They are obviously coming off a loss but they have already qualified. We will have to play some good cricket to beat them,” he concluded.
