IPL 2018, Match 36, SRH v DD: Hyderabad Continue Their Winning Run With a Nail-Biting Victory

Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a comprehensive victory by 6 wickets in the 36th march of Vivo IPL 11 against the Delhi Daredevils to continue their winning run in the tournament. It was a close-knit affair in the end which helped Hyderabad secured a comprehensive victory by 7 wickets n the end. Delhi batted well to post a competitive 163 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Prithvi Shaw played a brilliant hand of 65 of just 36 deliveries which were studded with 6 fours and 3 gigantic sixes.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Daredevils registered a score of 163/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Prithvi Shaw was the top scorer scoring 65 of 36 deliveries. Shaw was at his fluent best looked in great touch during his breezy knock. He was eventually dismissed by Rashid Khan but by then he had got Delhi off to a breezy start.
The Hyderabad bowlers were up to the mark on most occasions. Siddharth Kaul conceded 20 in his very first over but made a terrific comeback to finish with 1/37 in his 4 overs spell. Prithvi Shaw looked in ominous touch from the outset. He kept smashing the big shots on a consistent basis and looked in complete control of proceedings. Shaw who resembles Sachin Tendulkar in so many ways was simply astounding.
From a personal point of view, I hope this kid represents India in very quick time. He is the “Chotta Tendulkar” and he will surely look to emulate his master. He was eventually dismissed by Rashid Khan. Meanwhile, his skipper Shreyas Iyer scored 44 off 36 deliveries which got Delhi going. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant struggled his way to 18 of 19 deliveries before being dismissed by Rashid Khan.

The southpaw missed a short of length delivery and was struck in front of the pads. It was a debatable decision and Pant went for the review. The replays showed umpire’s call and Pant had to leave the arena. Vijay Shankar played a fluent hand of 23 of just 13 deliveries which eventually propelled Delhi to a score of 163/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
Sunrisers needed a brisk start to begin with and they got it in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and Alex Hales. The opening duo looked impressive and shared a 76 runs partnership before Amit Mishra brought about the dismissal. Alex Hales looked in sublime touch and struck some exceptional shots in the process.
It was Amit Mishra who dismissed both the opening batsmen which brought Delhi back into the game. Despite the brisk start, the Daredevils made the equation quite tough. Following the dismissal of Manish Pandey, the equation became quite tough. However, it 3as a superb innings by Yusuf Pathan which turned the game on its head. He remained unbeaten on 27 of just 12 deliveries. It was studded with a couple of fours and sixes. Williamson struck the winning shots to make it the 7th win of Hyderabad in the tournament.
