Sunrisers Hyderabad became the first team to qualify for the playoffs this year after they thrashed Delhi Daredevils by nine wickets on Thursday. Batting first, the Daredevils rode on Rishabh Pant’s maiden IPL hundred to recover from a shaky start and post 187 for 5. The wicketkeeper batsman scored 128 not out off just 63 balls with the help of 15 fours and 7 sixes.

However, his innings went in vain as unbeaten fifties from Shikhar Dhawan (92) and Kane Williamson (80) took Sunrisers home in the 19th over.

With the game now all done and dusted, here is a look at some interesting numbers and stats:

1. Rishabh Pant’s 128-run knock is the highest individual score by a Delhi Daredevils batsman in the IPL. It is also the highest individual score by any player against the Sunrisers in the IPL. Virender Sehwag’s 119 against Deccan Chargers in 2011 was the previous highest score by a Delhi player in the IPL.

2. Pant’s 128 not out is the highest individual score in a losing cause in the IPL. The previous highest was Andrew Symonds’ 117* for Deccan Chargers against Rajasthan Royals in 2008. Pant’s knock is also the fifth highest individual score in the IPL.

3. At the age of 20 years and 218 days, Rishabh Pant became the 2nd youngest player to score a century in the IPL. The youngest player to score an IPL hundred is Manish Pandey who achieved the milestone at the age of 19 years and 253 days in 2009.

4. Pant became the youngest player to complete 1000 runs in the IPL. The record was previously held by Sanju Samson who had done it at the age of 21 years and 183 days.

5. Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended the game with figures of 51 for 1 off 4 overs. It was only the 2nd time he conceded 50+ runs in a Twenty20 match. He had conceded 55 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016.

6. Pant’s 128-run knock is the highest individual score by an Indian in the Twenty20 format. He surpassed Murali Vijay who had scored 127 while representing Chennai Super Kings against Rajasthan Royals in 2010.

7. Pant scored a staggering 68.45 of Delhi Daredevils’ total runs against the Sunrisers. This is the 2nd highest percentage of team’s total scored by a player in a completed IPL inning. Brendon McCullum scored 71.17% of Kolkata Knight Riders’ total during his unbeaten 158-run knock in 2008.

8. Dhawan and Williamson added an unbeaten stand of 176 runs. It is the highest partnership for any wicket for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dhawan shared a 139-run stand with David Warner for the opening wicket against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017 which was their previous best partnership.
