Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and decided to field first against Rajasthan Royals in the forty-ninth match of the Indian Premier League at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata

Pitch report from Michael Clarke:

“This pitch is a little different. One end seems like a nice even grass covering, nice and dry too, and looks like a batting surface. The other end is particularly dry, and so the KKR spinners like Narine are likely to dominate bowling from the other end. A wonderful pitch, excellent weather, and we are in for a cracker of a contest.”

Here is what the captains said:

Ajinkya Rahane:

“Really happy to bat first. It’s a do-or-die for both the teams. We are happy to put a score on the board.. Ish Sodhi, Anirudh Singh, and Rahul Tripathi come in.”

Dinesh Karthik:

“Going to bowl first. We have chased a lot so we’d like to continue that. Two good teams competing against each other, so we’d like to continue what we have been doing.”
