Table of Contents
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to field first against Delhi Daredevils in the fifty-second match of the Indian Premier League at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
Here is what the captains said:
MS Dhoni:
“We’ll bowl first. It’s a difficult ground to contain. It’s not very big. There are chances of the wicket deteriorating. That’s a chance we have to take. It’s important to learn from each game. Every game gives you an opportunity to improve. Lungi comes in for David Willey.”
Shreyas Iyer:
“I’d have bowled first as well. They have a very experienced side as well. We’ll try to put on a good score. 190 is a par score here. We have to come out and execute. Maxwell comes in place of Jason Roy and Avesh come in for Dala.”
Preview:
The contest is between two teams lying in the different sides of the spectrum. While one is looking set to finish the league stage in the top two, the other is primed to finish with the wooden spoon. With 8 wins in 12 games, Chennai Super Kings have already made it to the playoffs. A win against the Daredevils will ensure their place in the top two. The game will also provide them with an opportunity to work on their weakness, especially their fielding as well as death bowling.
On the other hand, the game does not hold much importance for the Daredevils as they will finish at the bottom irrespective of the outcome. But despite that Shreyas Iyer & Co. would be desperate to put up a good show to give their fans something to cheer for.
