IPL 2018: Mitchell McClenaghan Posts Emotional Message After Going Unsold In Auction

New Zealand fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan’s highly successful association with Mumbai Indians has come to an end after he went unsold in the recently-concluded auction for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League.

Mumbai Indians bought the left-arm pacer in 2015, and he made an immediate impact by taking 18 wickets at an outstanding average of 21.44 in just 12 appearances, helping the side to its second IPL title. By the time, the 2016 season started he already became the pace spearhead of the team and went on to pick 17 wickets in 14 games. His impressive performance for Mumbai Indians continued last year too where he picked up 19 wickets in 14 games and once again played a vital role in Mumbai Indians’ title-triumph.

However, the franchise surprisingly decided to part ways with him. But instead of feeling disappointed, the Kiwi star posted an emotional message on Twitter, thanking the franchise and skipper Rohit Sharma for the last three seasons. He also wished the team luck for the upcoming season and said he would watch them with interest.
“Just a quick thanks to @mipaltan and @ImRo45 for the last 3 years. Was a great experience and enjoyed every moment. All the best this year and will watch on with interest.”
