Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) mystery off-spinner, Mujeeb Ur Rahman is likely going to miss the tie against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Holkar Stadium on May 14 (Monday).

Meanwhile, Punjab will receive a huge blow as Mujeeb has done consistently well for them. So far, he has claimed 14 wickets from 11 games and has contained runs in the middle-overs.

The teenager in the form of Mujeeb sustained an injury during the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He was hit on the hand by Sunil Narine and left the field with severe pain. However, it is still not clear if he has fully recovered from the blow.

Mujeeb likely to miss RCB tie in Indore:

The incident had occurred in the fourth over of the innings when Narine slammed one straight to Mujeeb. In the process of grabbing the ball of his own bowling, Mujeeb got severely injured.

According to the reports in India Today, there is a possibility that the team management might not risk playing him in this game.

However, Punjab is in desperate need of two points – to stay in contention for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, if Mujeeb Ur Rahman fails to get fit Punjab may bring in Ben Dwarshius, who is yet to get a game.

Moreover, they can opt for David Miller or Marcus Stoinis – to strengthen the batting and bring in Pradeep Sahu as the leg-spinner.

Sahu has previous experience of playing at the highest stage and will be desperate to make a mark. He is yet to make his debut in this edition of the league.
