Mumbai Indians reserve wicketkeeper-batsman Aditya Tare has showered heaps of praise on young Ishan Kishan. The former said that southpaw has enough talent and that’s why the defending champions are backing him up.

Meanwhile, Kishan has been in blistering form in this eleventh edition, scoring runs consistently. So far, he has scored 250 runs at a healthy strike-rate.

The 19-year-old Kishan, however, needs to carry this form in the remaining do-or-die fixtures for Mumbai. Mumbai will take on depleted Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on May 16 at the Wankhede Stadium.

The reigning champions Indians are currently on 10 points from 12 games and need to win all their remaining games – to give themselves a chance of qualifying.

Tare revealed that Mumbai has backed him as the first choice because of Kishan’s huge prospect. Meanwhile, Kishan has played all the games for Mumbai ahead of the experienced Tare.

He is pretty young 19-20 years old and the talent that he has is enormous. That’s the reason Mumbai Indians have backed him as the first choice,” Tare said ahead of the game.

The Mumbai gloveman further added that it will help him grow in his career. He will also take a lot of confidence from here going further.

It is the start in his career, so it is a great opportunity for him playing for MI. A couple of games back he won a game for us, so it shows the amount of ability he has with the bat. This experience of playing all the games for a franchise like MI is going to help him going forward in his career,” Tare concluded.

Meanwhile, Aditya Tare is yet to get a game and will look to get some playing time under his belt.
