The Rajasthan Royals has unveiled their new pink jersey for cancer awareness in IPL 2018. They will be wearing in the match between the Chennai Super Kings at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. The motive is to raise awareness for cancer. The Rajasthan skipper Ajinkya Rahane launched the new jersey in a function named ‘Cancer Out’ at the Sawai Mansingh Medical College.

Heinrich Klaasen, Krishnappa Gowtham and Mahipal Lomoror accompanied him. Moreover, Royal Challengers Bangalore wears the green jersey once in every tournament to raise “nature awareness”.

The inaugural champions from the tournament, Rajasthan Royals are in association with the statewide ‘Cancer Out’ campaign to popularise screening cancer. The initiative was launched in collaboration with Tata Trust. They have also got support from the Rajasthan Government, National Cancer Grid, Indian Cancer Society and Indian Dental Association.

“What I feel as a sportsman, it is important to have Cancer screening so that it can be detected early and can be cured. As a cricketer, we can send out a strong message. I appeal to people, whether they are fit or not, after every six months, they must come once for a health check-up,” Rahane said while speaking on the initiative taken by the Royals.

They will become the 3rd franchise ever to sport a new playing attire during an IPL game. Earlier, it was Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore who used different jerseys for a match.

Daredevils used a lavender jersey to mark Cancer Survivor day. Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, wears the green jersey for a day for the commitment of the team to the ‘Go Green Initiative’.

Rajasthan hopes alive in Vivo IPL 11

Meanwhile, Rajasthan has kept their hopes alive in the tournament with a victory against the Kings XI Punjab yesterday. It was a great bowling performance by the Rajasthan bowlers which restricted Punjab to 143/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Courtesy a sublime knock of 82 from Jos Buttler, Rajasthan posted a commendable total of 158 on a tough pitch.

They have to keep winning to keep their hopes alive in the tournament. Though it will be a tough proposition for Rajasthan, they will surely be optimistic about making it to the final four.
