Former Indian legendary batsman, Sunil Gavaskar feels that  Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) players Rashid Khan has proved that he can be a one-man army in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will battle it out with Hyderabad in the summit clash of IPL 2018. Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium will host the finale clash on May 27 (Sunday).

Gavaskar feels the CSK and Hyderabad were better than other teams and deserve to be in the finals. Moreover, these two teams were also the top two teams at the end of the group stages.

Fittingly, the teams that finished first and second are in the final. They were just that little bit better than the others when it mattered and deserve their place at the high dining table,” Gavaskar wrote in TOI.

However, history shows that the team finished second in the league generally goes on to win the trophy. As a result, Chennai fans will be joyous as the franchise will complete a fairytale comeback by winning the coveted cup.

The cricketer turned commentator also admits that Chennai will be high on confidence after beating Hyderabad in the Qualifier.

Rashid, a one-man army

Meanwhile, the Sunrisers have time and again struggled due to the lack of depth in their batting. Only Kane Williamson has scored runs consistently for his side and is the highest run scorer in the league.

The Sunrisers batting does not have the depth that Chennai has, and so, is reliant on Dhawan and Williamson,” Gavaskar adds.

Moreover, the veteran showered heaps praise on the young Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan. Gavaskar believes the leg-spinner is getting better day by day and can be a one-man army.

One man, though, gets better and better by the day and as he showed against the KKR, he can be a one-man army. Rashid Khan’s blistering innings gave SRH just the push it needed and lifted their spirits. He played fabulous shots and the de Villiers-like flick shot was the best of them all. Then with the ball in his hand, he once again wove magic and had the batsmen tied to their crease,” he concluded.
