Former Indian player, Sandeep Patil has compared MS Dhoni with all time Blockbuster Bollywood movie, Mughal-E-Azam.

Patil also likened Dhoni with old wine as the master is showing a swing in his improvement graph in the ongoing IPL season.

We are witnessing a completely different avatar of MS Dhoni in the 11th season of the IPL. The Chennai Super Kings skipper has already scored 360 runs in the ten innings at a staggering average of 90 and strike rate of 165.90. Dhoni is at the top of the leading six-hitters with 27 maximums to his name in this season.

Dhoni has definitely found his lost touch. The wicketkeeper-batsman is coming out to bat at the fourth spot in the order. Consequently, he is getting more balls to face. Moreover, Dhoni is batting with much more freedom in this edition.

Dhoni is batting at the top of his game.

Sandeep Patil wrote in his column for The Quint,

“I have spoken of Dhoni umpteen times, and I will continue to talk about him and his journey in years to come. One can write columns on MS Dhoni’s epic journey, and with every game he plays, Dhoni gives us more and more to write about. For me, Dhoni is like the classic Hindi film Mughal-E-Azam – it never gets old, and you can watch it on repeat”.

The former India all-rounder added Dhoni is like old wine which is getting better with age. Patil added to his lines,

“It amazes not only me, but all cricket pundits, that Dhoni is still maturing every day and every year, like a fine wine. The old Hindi proverb comes to mind: “Bandar buddha ho jata hain par gulati marna nahi chodhta” (monkeys grow old, but never stop their antics).”

MS Dhoni is definitely batting with much more confidence. It is palpable in the way he is finishing games for Chennai Super Kings.

Moreover, Dhoni has once again led with aplomb and Chennai have won seven matches out of the ten they have played. Thus, Chennai looks all settled to make their way into the final four.
