Chennai Super Kings opener, Shane Watson was in full of praise for his skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The Australian cricketer has been one of the best performers for the franchise this season.

Watson played a huge role in their success so far. Despite being banned for two seasons from IPL, Chennai Super Kings are back in style and are currently at the second position on the IPL 2018 points table.

They have been quite sensational on the field, as they rolled past teams to get important wins. Shane Watson has chipped in with both bat and ball, as he scored a century in Chennai jersey this season.

On the other hand, players like Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina have been in fine form at the top of the order.

However, the major positive for the franchise is the form of captain MS Dhoni. The veteran wicket-keeper was written off by many critics due to his advancing age. But Dhoni had managed to roll back the years in IPL this season, as he looked in fine touch.

Shane Watson believes Dhoni has been batting brilliantly this season.

“When I played for Australia and other franchises, I’ve watched him from far earlier. I thought he is incredibly calm. What I saw of him on the field playing against him is exactly what I see him playing with him. He has bailed us out a lot of times, and he is able to handle the expectations and pressures very well,” Watson told Mirror in Pune.

“Look, he is batting as well as he ever had. The way Dhoni is playing he can play for as long as he wants. He is an inspiration for many,” he added.

After an impressive win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Pune, the team are set to play against Rajasthan Royals on Friday.

Considering they already won seven games so far this season, a win against Royals would practically seal a playoff berth to them.

However, the task will not be an easy one, as they will be visiting Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) made the ground their fortress, and not many teams have managed to defeat them there. But Chennai could beat Royals if they can play to their limit.
