Rajasthan Royals (RR) mentor, Shane Warne has predicted the winner of this eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which will take place in the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (May 27) evening.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will square off against the table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Both the teams have met each other on three occasions so far with Chennai recording victories in all of them.
Moreover, CSK and SRH have faced each other nine times and the Super Kings hold the edge over their southern rivals with seven victories.
However, Rajasthan Royals (RR) bowed out from the tournament after losing out in the Eliminator against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). There were many speculations about David Warne’s role as he left the tournament midway.
Previously, he went back to Australia for 10 days and only returned before the playoffs. Rajasthan came back from behind to win a couple of matches on a trot – to qualify for the playoffs stage. Rajasthan co-owner, however, backed Warne stating that Royals contracted him on a weekly basis.
Shane Warne predicts the winner:
The legendary spinner Warne has had a first-hand account of every team having seen them from the dugout.
After analysing Chennai’s recent performances he predicted them as the winner of this edition of the league.
Chennai has played together as a team throughout the season and the players have chipped in with useful contribution whenever the team required.
Moreover, the opening pair of Ambati Rayudu and Watson has done a terrific job backed by Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the middle-order.
However, Chennai will be desperate to put an improved effort in the fielding which has lacked this season.
Meanwhile, it will be an intriguing battle and equally enthralling experience for the fans.
