IPL 2018: Sunrisers Hyderabad to Retain Warner, Dhawan and Bhuvaneshwar

With the date of submitting the list of the retained players approaching nearer, IPL franchisees are under the pump of the selecting their desired players to be retained. The teams have to submit the list of the retained players by 4th January. A close link to Sunrisers Hyderabad has said that the franchisees will retain their skipper David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.
Warner led the SRH side to IPL triumph in 2016 and Dhawan and Kumar were the key factors to the success of SRH. A close member of the SRH team told Sportsmirchi:
“Dhawan, Bhuvi and Warner have done tremendous job for Hyderabad team and these were key players in 2016’s victory. Hence we have decided to retain these three from our 2017 squad.”

An IPL franchisee can retain maximum three capped Indian players, two foreign capped players and two uncapped Indian players. Franchisee’s which do not retain any player from their squad get three options of the right to match. The Governing Council has also set the salary for every franchise for the next three seasons. Franchisees will have a cap of 80 crores in 2018, 82 crores in 2019 and 85 crores in 2020.
This year will also see the return of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals to the flamboyant Indian Premier League. The two teams can retain players who were in their squad in the 2015 season and part of the Gujarat Lions squad or Rising Pune SuperGiants squad.
