IPL 2018: Suryakumar Yadav Reveals the Secret Behind His Run-Scoring Spree

Despite a horrendous start to their IPL campaign, Mumbai Indians have made a late surge. They have still kept themselves in the hunt for the playoffs. It has been largely possible due to the contribution of their opening batsman Suryakumar Yadav. He is 2^nd in the list of top run-getters in the tournament. The stylish right-hander has scored 399 runs in 10 matches at an impressive strike rate of 132.11. He is just 24 runs short of the highest run-getter in the tournament Ambati Rayudu who has amassed 423 runs.

Suryakumar has played some audacious shots to begin with and has got Mumbai off to a sensational start in most occasions. He has really looked a class apart and will look to continue his rich vein of form through the rest of the tournament if Mumbai harbours hopes of qualifying to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the secret of his run-scoring spree has been disclosed by none other than his wife Devisha Shetty.

In a recent interview with the Star Sports, Devisha revealed that it was Yadav’s fetish for desserts which might be instrumental in scoring him freely all through the tournament. “Chocolate brownie with hot chocolate and some vanilla ice-cream,” this is Suryakumar Yadav’s favourite dish before going out to bat.

On Sunday in a must-win clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Surya scored a brilliant 57 of just 42 deliveries which were studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes. He laid the foundation for the Mumbai Indians. Eventually the defending champions. Meanwhile in the same video which was shared by the official website of Mumbai, Pankhuri Sharma, the wife of Krunal Pandya also revealed that what keeps him motivated ahead of a tournament.

She revealed Krunal loves listening o Punjabi songs ahead of a match despite being a Gujarati. “Though Krunal is Gujarati, he listens to Punjabi music to keep himself going ahead of IPL matches.”
