Every year or every season, we come across a certain player who is rising through the ranks in order to find the headlines on a regular basis in the cricketing world. Perhaps, the ongoing year is such a year for the young Sam Curran. The prodigy all-rounder registered incredible numbers and also bagged the opportunities at the highest level of the game. The latest one in his kitty is Kings XI Punjab contract of INR 7.2 Crores for IPL 2019.

Sam Curran is one of the five new-comers from England to be part of IPL 2019. He will be joining Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Harry Gurney and Joe Denly to taste the essence of IPL cricket in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

The stylish southpaw remained the highest earned overseas player after the conclusion of IPL 2019 auction. He emerged out as a top overseas player in the auction. In fact, some of the big players were taken by eight franchises during the action.

“What a year! Couldn’t be more excited to join the @lionsdenkxip at the @IPL in 2019,” the 20-year-old tweeted after bagging a million-doller deal by Kings XI Punjab.

Well, it would be a great addition for Kings XI, as Curran can deliver the goods across the formats. In addition, it is expected that Sam Curran will be available for the whole season. Curran is not part of the regular ODI team for England.

Kings XI Punjab has bagged quite a few good players to their side in order to build strong playing XI. Surprisingly, they gave up Axar Patel during the bidding war despite his services over the years for the team.
