IPL 2019: Gautam Gambhir to be Part of Kings XI Punjab? Says Reports

Two-time IPL winner, Gautam Gambhir is reported to join Kings XI Punjab for the IPL 2019 season. Meanwhile, Delhi Daredevils released Gautam ahead of the IPL 2019 auctions, scheduled to start on December 18th in Jaipur. Further, Gambhir announced his international retirement a few days back. Recently, Gautam Gambhir quoted he is looking to be part of the coaching panel to be close to the game of cricket.

Gambhir to mentor KXIP?

Though KXIP already got Mike Hesson in their ranks, the assumptions took the boost because of their series of tweets on Gambhir’s retirement. They tweeted saying that,

‘it is an end of a chapter and the new one set to begin.’

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir, who noticed the tweet said,

“Thanks team red for making it special. Let’s meet soon. 

To which, Punjab replied,

”It is our pleasure. Waiting to see you cheer for our lions from the stands of the den!”

Well, it would be interesting to see whether Gautam Gambhir dons Punjab Jersey in the upcoming edition. It would be the fine edition, as Gambhir knew the route for IPL championship.

Kings XI Punjab changed entire support staff –

Recently, Kings XI Punjab had altered their support staff for the upcoming edition. First, they asked Virender Sehwag to step away while Mike Hesson took the role. Then, Ryan Harris replaced Venkatesh Prasad in the bowling department as well.

They brought Craig McMillan (fielding coach), Brett Harrop (physio), Sridharan Sriram (batting coach) and Prasanna Raman (high-performance coach) to the side. They also made some surprising exclusions in the players’ squad as well, the major one of them being of Yuvraj Singh.
