There is certainly no doubt about the fact that Delhi Capitals snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against the Kings XI Punjab a couple of days ago. However, they will look to forget the past and look for all the positives as they prepare to take Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 16th match of the tournament slated to be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, will be oozing with confidence after their huge victory by 118 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The form of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow at the top of the order has proved to be the difference for the Orange Army. Bairstow and Warner both scored centuries against Bangalore and took the game away from the opposition.
Sunrisers Hyderabad to start as favourites
It was carnage on display by the two batters as they took the Bangalore attack to the cleaners. The bowling attack led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar looked rusty but provided the much-needed breakthroughs at crucial junctures of the game. Bhuvi has leaked runs in the last few matches and against Rajasthan, he ended up conceding 55 runs in his 4 overs spell.

Mohammed Nabi bowled a terrific spell in his first match of the tournament last day. He bagged 4 wickets for just 11 runs and was by far the pick of the SRH bowlers. Rashid Khan has looked out of colour so far which is pretty unusual given his success rate in all forms of cricket. All in hand, Hyderabad looks a strong side on paper who has every chance of lifting the trophy this year.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, was within touching distance of victory against Punjab when there was a dramatic collapse which saw them lost their last 7 wickets for just 8 runs in a matter of 17 deliveries. Even against the Kolkata Knight Riders, the DC huffed and puffed their way to a tie before pulling off the match in a dramatic super over bowled by Kagiso Rabada. They have to pull their socks up pretty quickly in order to remain in the hunt.
Predicted XI’s
Delhi Capitals
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Colin Ingram, Hanuma Vihari, Harshal Patel, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Sandeep Lamichhane
Sunrisers Hyderabad
David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Vijay Shankar, Yusuf Pathan, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Nabi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, Siddharth Kaul
Head to Head:
Matches Played: 12, Sunrisers Hyderabad- 7, Delhi Capitals- 4, No Result- 1

Pitch condition:
The track in Feroz Shah Kotla has been traditionally a high scoring venue. Even in this tournament, the pitch has been a good batting deck. However, Feroz Shah Kotla has always helped the spinners. Dew will be a huge factor as it was in the previous game. Jofra Archer said that it was the worst conditions he has ever bowled. All said and done it should be an interesting game today.
Weather forecast:
It is expected to a be a hot and humid day in New Delhi. Temperature is expected hover in the mid 20’s. As it is a night game condition will be a bit cooler than the day time. As of now, there are no chances of rain and the match should go as per plan.
Match Prediction
Sunrisers Hyderabad will start as firm favourites for the match. Delhi Capitals has looked good in the tournament so far but a hiccup in the last match will be a tough pill to swallow for the whole team. From a situation of strength, they lost 7 wickets for just 8 runs in 17 deliveries. Hence my bet is with Sunrisers Hyderabad to continue their winning run in the tournament.
