The recently concluded match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) witnessed a silly mistake from umpire S Ravi which costed Bangalore that match. Ravi failed to pick up the no-ball from Lasith Malinga which has stirred a countrywide controversy. Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma admitted that these kinds of mistakes are not right for the game of cricket and the umpires should rectify it.

Meanwhile, AB de Villiers led the charge for Royal Challengers Bangalore but failed to take his side home. Jasprit Bumrah was of world-class in the death overs backed by Lasith Malinga who showed hints of younger days in the last over. The duo hit the yorker length at ease making it tough for AB de Villiers and Shivam Dube to get underneath it. Malinga defended 17 runs from the last over after Bumrah did all the hardwork to hand Mumbai their first win. However, with seven runs needed from the last ball, Malinga bowled a perfect yorker to seal the deal. However, during that process, he overstepped which the umpires have missed to pick up.

I just got to know when we crossed the rope. Somebody just told me it was a no-ball. These kind of mistakes are not good for the game of cricket, it’s pretty simple, the over before that. Bumrah bowled a ball which wasn’t a wide ball. Those are game-changers. There’s a TV up there, they have to watch what’s happening. It is as simple as it is. Players can’t do much. The only thing they can do is walk off and shake hands because it was the last ball. It’s disappointing to see that. I hope they rectify their mistakes like we do when we make mistakes,” Rohit Sharma said.
