IPL 2019: Rajasthan Royals Releases Jaydev Unadkat, D'Arcy Short, retains Ajinkya Rahane

So, Rajasthan Royals also revealed their retained and released players list for the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League 2019. As expected, they released Jaydev Unadkat from the team alongside Ben Laughlin and D’Arcy Short. Meanwhile, they retained Steven Smith for IPL 2019.

Surprisingly, their mid-tournament inclusion Ish Sodhi has also been retained by the franchise for the upcoming edition. Krishnappa Gawtham, Sanju Samson also makes it into the side after a solid show in IPL 2018.

Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler retained:

Despite England players set to miss the tournament from the middle, they retained the services of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. Jos Buttler has been superb in IPL 2018, which probably made them retain him.

Jofra Archer also gets the extension alongside England and Australian players. In total, Rajasthan bagged 11 Indian players’ service and 5 foreign players.

Speaking of the same, head of cricket at the franchise Zubin Bharucha said ”The results in the previous season have been impressive and that is why we have decided not to disturb the balance of the squad.”

Coming to the released players’ list, there are 10 players named on it. Of course, the big name on the list Jaydev Unadkat, who made the headlines in the previous season for obvious reasons. Henrich Klaasen, Dane Patterson is the other notable players to be excluded from the side as well.
