Recently, the reports surfaced the Indian skipper Virat Kohli wants the BCCI to give rest to Indian fast bowlers in IPL 2019, who would play the vital role in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. Meanwhile, the vice-captain Rohit Sharma is not happy with the proposal and didn’t agree to Virat Kohli’s plea.

In fact, the top two bowlers available for Team India, at the moment, are Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah. They are the most likely candidates for the World Cup berth while Umesh Yadav, Shami, and Khaleel are still uncertain.

Meanwhile, the rest to the key fast bowlers will mean keeping Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah away from their respective franchises. Even though the idea looks decent in the best interest for ICC World Cup 2019, Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai Indians isn’t happy to leave Jasprit Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah has been a vital cog in Mumbai Indians side. He has been the backbone of the team for their success in the tournament since his signing with them. Meanwhile, speaking of the same, Rohit Sharma quoted he can’t leave Bumrah if they reach the playoffs stage.

“When Kohli mooted the idea, CoA chief Vinod Rai asked Rohit about his take. Rohit apparently said, ”If Mumbai Indians reach Play Offs or finals and if Bumrah happens to be fit, then I cannot afford to rest him’,” the official said to PTI.

On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also a key player for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. He has been pretty remarkable over the years for them. Furthermore, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was named as the vice-captain of the team.

However, it would be interesting to see how things would turn out. Virat Kohli is looking at a bigger picture while Rohit Sharma doesn’t want to take things lightly even in the domestic tournament of Indian Premier League.
