Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) recently traded Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis from Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Meanwhile, Bangalore have released nine players ahead of the auction including star players Brendon McCullum and Chris Woakes. New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson is the other overseas player who got a release letter from the franchise. RCB roped in the services of all the three players last season.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are yet to lift the coveted trophy, will be keen to do well this season. RCB has struggled over the years despite boasting a strong squad. The maximum they could reach is the finals but have lost all the three times. And now, in a bid to change their track record, they have started the off-field preparations on a high.
In a bid to do that, they have traded batsman Mandeep Singh to bring in swashbuckling all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. The explosive all-rounder possesses a good muscle and can also chip in with wickets. He did a good job with the Kings XI Punjab scoring 99 runs in seven games and picking three wickets.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will want Stoinis to play his natural game and help them go through this time.
“A big welcome to our new recruit @MStoinis! The swashbuckling Aussie all-rounder is a great addition to the team! Be it with the bat, ball or on the field he can make it count! See you at the fortress Marcus. Make us proud!
